Chocolate Milk

Chocolate Milk - How About Love

Chocolate Milk - Same - RCA APL1-1399 - 1976

Side one: Never Ever Do Anything Without You; How About Love; Spread A Little Love; You've Got A Spell On Me
Side Two: Let The Music Take Your Mind; Crazy About You; Party Happy; Running Away; Pluck It
Produced by: Allan Tousaint & Marshall Seahorn for Sansu

This album is supposed to be the best of the three that the group recorded. Today's play How About Love is a nice little slow stepper. Let The Music Take Your Mind was later covered by Kool & The Gang. Two other stand out tunes are the funky; Crazy About You and the instrumental Pluck It.

The eight member band wrote all their own songs and played their own instruments. Sansu Productions was a successful New Orleans label in the 1960's with many soul/r&b hits to there credit. The album was recorded at Sea-Saint Studios. Although the album was re-issued original copy's are quite rare!

  1. Chocolate Milk recorded what I regard as one of the most chilling Soul ballads I've ever heard! "That's The Way She Loves" (RCA) is slow, moody and magnificent, with an eerie production that has to be heard to be believed.
